Interview Research
Prior to the MTV interview with Tori Lorente, we had to recognize the typical questions, behaviors and reactions of both the interviewee and the artist to have a clear idea of how we should film the interview. The questions that are going to be asked are both on topic of the new music video release as well as general life and what the fans were interested to know.
The Justin Bieber interview is a great example of how an artist can adapt to each different question with the suitable response. For Justin Bieber, when asked about the music itself he has a very mature and true approach and when discussing general life his playful personality becomes apparent. When watching this as a group we really liked the whole diversity of the questions and the interview.
From the research we discovered that the most intriguing and enjoyable interviews so watch were by those artists who were both relaxed about the situation. It became evident that for for smaller artists, they sometimes showed a sense of being overwhelmed by an interview. With the calm personality Tori Lorente has, we would really like that to come across in the interview as like so many others including Justin Bieber present themselves with.
At the beginning of the music video, Evan had an idea about an intro to the interview with inspiration from a video online from Basement. With MTV hosting a range of artists that express their personalities in different ways, the idea that an introduction could also present Tori Lorente's personality by including a variety of shots. Therefore, the inspiration from the Basement video is the shots and angles which are included to represent the community of 'Streetwear'.
